Rainforests are forests characterized by high rainfall, with annual rainfall in the case of tropical rainforests between 250 and 450 centimetres.Tropical and temperate rainforests have been subjected to heavy legal and illegal logging for their valuable hardwoods and agricultural clearance throughout the 20th century and in recent ten years, the area covered by rainforests around the world is shrinking.

To protect rainforest from deforestation，some measures to save rainforests should be taken on a broader scale:

Educate others about the importance of the environment and how they can help save rainforests; Restore damaged ecosystems by planting trees on land where forests have been cleared; Encourage people to live in a way that doesnt harm the environment; Establish parks to protect rainforests and wildlife; Support companies that operate in ways that minimize damage to the environment.
